Stephanie S Ribeiro
Artist Statement
Hello, I’m Stephanie S Ribeiro, a Brazilian-American interdisciplinary artist, homeschool mother, and storyteller of the soul. I create from a place of serene contemplation and magical serendipity—where flowers hold messages, skies awe with emotions, and each painting becomes a joyful ritual.
My work draws from Abstract Realism’s emotional freedom, Impressionism’s devotion to presence, Somatic Art’s integration and healing, and Visionary Art’s spiritual symbolism. Through soft brushwork, layers of texture, and poetic expression, I explore the space between the visible and invisible—the world outside my eyes and the one inside my heart.
An intuitive practice of slowing down, creating with intention, and honoring beauty as a spiritual language. Whether through oils or gouache, video or poetry, I invite viewers to step into a visual sanctuary of self-reflection, imagination, and grace.
Ultimately, I paint from a place where art, soul, and whimsy meet.
My Story
Brazilian-American currently residing in Saint Augustine, FL, with my family. As a mother, my primary focus is dedicating myself to the well-being of my family. I am an interdisciplinary artist who finds fulfillment in the contemplative journey of creation. As an art teacher, I believe that education serves as a pathway to freedom.
My educational background includes an MFA in Interdisciplinary Arts from Goddard College and a BFA in Art Education from the Academy of Art University. I have furthered my knowledge through certifications from the Isha Institute (Inner Engineering Program) and Transformation Academy (Therapeutic Art Life Coach). Currently, I am engaged in the Mastery Program at the Milan Art Institute and the Cosmovisionário program at Instituto MXT.
I express my gratitude to God, Mother Nature, Father Sky, and ancestors. Born in Anápolis, Goiás, Brazil, on the land of the Karajá de Aruanã, I now reside in Saint Augustine, Florida, on the land of the extinct Timucua tribe.
My beliefs center around dedication, contemplation, and freedom, principles that resonate through my family life, artistic pursuits, and teaching endeavors. I am thankful for the blessings and grace bestowed upon me by God. The ability to pursue my studies, express myself through art, and cherish the bonds of family fills me with appreciation, especially for my partner, child, and our furry companions.
Gratitude extends to my ancestors and family for providing a platform for growth and evolution. I acknowledge the role of my parents, expressing thanks to Mom and Dad. My Professors, Gale Jackson and Erica Eaton, deserve my heartfelt gratitude for igniting my curiosity and understanding.
As I conclude, I extend a word of gratitude to myself, Stephanie, for embodying dedication, resilience, and unwavering love for life’s journey. Through it all, I am grateful for the path that allows me to embrace my studies, find joy in creativity, and nurture the precious connections binding my cherished family together.
